I must say that I find it refreshing for a republican to acknowledge the predictable effects of policies he advocates for.

I guess the only question remaining is: Why do republicans hate America?

5. Yup, Somalia's no "nanny state"
No cumbersome regulations, no FDA meddling in drug sales, no EPA butting their heads into pollution problems, no welfare, unemployment benefits or "entitlements" of any kind.

Yesiree, a Republican dreamland.

4. Actually, Will and the other self-percieved "overclass" LOVE America...
They just hate Americans...

How else can you present stump speech after stump speech justifying the "re-serfification" of the FDR created middle class. Remember that for most Americans FDR was the bridge from "The Grapes of Wrath" to home ownership, to college education as a middle-class norm, and the stay-at-home Moms of the 50's.

In Will's America every current good flows forward from Reagan's drive to deregulate and smash unions. Where wishing for "A Thousand Points of Light" was sufficient reason to slash social programs even if fellow citizens would go hungry. Where making up outrage stories about "welfare Cadillacs" to build hatred of the poor was seen as the ends justifying the means.

And recognize that the America they love is this one, right here and right now, that they have struggled to create and would like to preserve. They love the dieing of the middle class and financial rape and criminality. They support bankruptcy being a medical problem away for most Americans. They have a "Homeland" and a plan, now nearly complete, and the form of their plan shapes how you now live. Three part time jobs? "How uniquely American!". Loosing your home? Well, the magic hand of the market gooses some...

So the point is this...Obama is about our last hope other than revolution and George doesn't think we have the belly for that. But if he gets his way he may be surprised.
