Ever write software for political purposes?
I just did. Well, it's a little bit of software commentary on the latest revelations on the NSA's illegal warrantless communications interceptions disclosed by Russell Tice on Olbermann this week.

Well, admittedly, mine's pretty esoteric, and pretty trivial - it took me about an hour to put together, and most of that hour was googling documentation on Wordpress to figure out how to write a sidebar widget.

Anyways, the result is Meta-Press Spook, a sidebar widget for Wordpress blogs that generates "food for the NSA", and you can download it here( http://www.meldroc.com/?page_id=290 ), and see it at work in my sidebar.

2. We needed that eight years ago. It will hopefully be rendered unnecessary very soon.
This is why I went out of my way for the past 7 years or so to buy "controversial" magazine by credit card.

5. Well, I wasn't the first.
The Emacs text editor traditionally comes with an Emacs-Lisp program called M-x spook which does the same thing - outputs a string of subversive keywords designed to trip up NSA trolling software.

Granted, I doubt that M-x spook or Meta-Press Spook will get anything more than mild amusement from NSA employees engaged in domestic surveillance, but I had fun writing it.

3. I'm so pompous I think everything I write is "food for the NSA"
Dick Cheney wears a hospital gown when he's not on public display and Fidel Castro has pictures.

4. Maybe my 2.0 version should use Markov chains.
You can use Markov chains to put together gibberish sentences out of your list of words and phrases.

An example is this computer-generated Sarah Palin interview... Should be at http://interviewpalin.com/ but I don't know if that site's still up - I can't connect to it - must've went down after the election was over. Anyways, I did find an example...

Q: What is your foreign policy experience?

I think if you ask that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the people of America are not fully satisfied with all the answers. It's going to be considered also. But again, it's got to put government and it's about putting government back on the verbiage that Senator McCain chose to use them. So we have opportunities for good in the war. You can't blink. You have to be allowed in their benefit, also, a mutually beneficial relationship for us all to be provided the hope that all Americans have, instilled in us, because we're a democratic, we are today with so much collapse on Wall Street, affecting Main Street.

7. So you want to hide in plan sight... there was a FF plug in that did the same.
It ran 30 or so google queries a min so that your google search log was HUGE and your real searches were lost in the 100's of others.
