I don't think it got any press or any mention in the media so I would like to mention it now. I post these in the spirit of that day and the man who inspired so many to bring forth nonviolent confrontation. After the Dupont Circle demonstration where David Swanson, Code Pink, World Can't Wait and many others spoke and after everybody threw shoes at the WhiteHouse a group went to Union Station and performed a freeze and a die-in. The area was immediately cordoned off by AMTRAK police and AMTRAK patron were not aloud to see the event.

3. How did the police react?
I think Obama put the hammer down said he wanted zero arrests in D.C. for his inauguration. The AMTRAK police were tolerant but like I said they basically created a "free speech zone" around us. The line of people being ushered around the die in became a trickle when the cops blocked off the access point to that area.

4. As far as I could tell they didn't know about it ahead of time
I honestly don't remember seeing any cops.

6. Those are awesome.
I wasn't really familiar with this form of protest, it's really powerful in it's subtlety. That section of Union Station was closed off, by the way, for some inaugural gathering or something.

He was actually pretty cool, not a dick. They were Federal Air Marshalls and I asked him about that and where their airplanes were.
