1. Now why are Cheney's approval ratings less than Bush! Bush should be at 13% also.
That 22% is the remaining hard core righties. You'd think they'd give Cheney the same level of approval.

7. Damn.
What kind of sampling frame leaves you with a 22% margin of error?

10. You cannot divide by zero.
So we're left with 22%, and as I have said that Bush's base is down to right wing bloggers and AM radio talk show hosts.

13. Yeah, and it would REALLY bugger up the Cheney approval ratings, too.
Although I suppose in his case it WOULD be possible to have an approval rating of -8%.

:hi:

He, Bush, has been a rotten bastard of a president and I'm glad he's gone.

12. Take a look at this graph
<>

Continue the trend line from where it stops...you arrive at 22% It's almost linear since his peak in'01. Why he got such a boost from 9/11 when he was asleep at the wheel beats me...but without it, I wonder if he'd have reached the "0" line?

14. He was asleep at the wheel
but between the bullshit propaganda movie that turned his sorry goat-story-reading ass into some sort of hero, the constant protection from the most sycophantic media ever, and people's refusal to believe that he was the most incompetent and unqualified person ever to occupy the White House, I can see how his approval rating got a boost. Hell, even some of the people on this site who should have known better wrote long diatribes in the aftermath of 911 on how we should support "our President" (sic).

15. It's an interesting graph, though.
After the 9/11 boost (not from me!), his ratings trend down sharply, until the Iraq invasion. He gets another bump, but that's not nearly as big as 9/11 and, within 6 months, he's well below his ratings just before the war. Then something causes another spike at the end of 2003, not sure what, but he spends 2004 drifting upwards to the '04 election. With all that political capital he acquired, he sinks like a lead balloon for the next 4 years.

16. Capture of Hussein ...

That's what happened at the end of 2003, Dec. 13th. Fits the graph pretty well.

21. That 22% approve of the $10 trillion + or - destruction wrought on our country and its economy, the
damage inflicted on our Constitution, the rule of law, international order and goodwill, the environment and all else suggests the number of fanatics roaming in our society is mind-boggling indeed. :P
