The statements that stuck with me are that last summer 4,000 refugees fled Baghdad every month. It is a hidden refugee crisis. The people who remain in Baghdad are mostly too poor to leave. The wealthy and middle class have already left. There was also a rather horrifying statement from a bus driver whose route is to one of the neighboring countries about anyone left in BAghdad would die in one of three ways.
The thing that got me was the Iraqi lady who said her seventeen year old sister couldn't walk in public in Damascus without being called a prostitute because Iraqis have "lost respect" in the Middle East since our illegal invasion. That is heartbreaking. :(
