Even if we had done nothing, do you think the terrorists had a plan to attack us again?

This is the premise of the last 7 years of the Bush Administration. He kept us safe. He kept us from further attacks by the terrorists. As if they had numerous attacks planned to attack the United States. I suppose it is a leap of faith to validate their support for the numerous wars and illegal activities of Bush and Cheney and the Neocons?

Personally, I do not believe the terrorists had any plans to attack our country again. Why should they? They proved their point on 9/11. They attacked the most powerful and wealthy trade center in the world with their attack on the WTC. They attacked the most powerful military in the world with their attack upon the Pentagon on that same day. Checkmate. As far as the terrorists were concerned.

10. Granting the premise that 9/11 WAS an attack by Al Queda...

what this soon-to-be-former administration did to prevent further such attacks was to respond exactly as desired: wage war on two Muslim countries, vastly increasing the animosity toward the US and enhancing their recruiting. They enhanced the benefit to the purported perps with all the wiretapping, renditions, etc.

If all that shit had not happened - "if we had done nothing" - as you put it, there likely would have been another event. It would not have cost us nearly so much, both in "blood and treasure" and quality of life as has their supposed "cure."

What did NOT "prevent another attack" is banning liquids on planes and making people take their shoes off. BTW, what ever happened to the "terrorist threat" color codes? Are we at a permanent state of mauve or something?

with other countries, not an armed invasion and war crimes of some Innocent 3rd world country. We were not attacked by a government or a country, but a band of criminals.

That said, the bu$h administration did nothing to stop 9/11. In fact they rigged things to make it easier to happen.
The outgoing Clinton administration warned the incoming bu$h administration that something was going down and even had the date down to with in a few days. The bu$h administration did nothing to stop it as they need a major terrorist event to get their wars jumped started.
