Cornyn: GOP will block any attempt to seat Franken
John Cornyn of Texas says Republicans will launch a filibster if necessary to block any attempt by Democrats to seat Al Franken when the Senate gavels into order next week. the one-time Saturday Night Live comedian is leading incumbent Norm Coleman by less than 50 votes. And Franken supporters are predicting he will win the vote count and should be seated once the total is cerfied by the state.

My email spy box picked up an article that was more sensationalist about it, saying the Republican Party was planning for "war" over Franken.

My, how the "mighty" have fallen.

1. If the courts won't hear it and the state certifies it, how can the senate block it?

2. So, they have nothing better to do than to thwart the will of the people?
Of course, the same can be said of their entire agenda for the last 100 years or so...

3. Oh how typical.
If they can't win fairly, cheat, bully, and throw toddler tantrums.

I hope our side stands strong and ignores these whiners. No concessions or making nice!

7. And if that doesn't work they move on to
"sod off", and then if that still doesn't work, the offender may find himself on the receiving end of an almighty "faaack off!"

5. Obstructionists

This is why nothing constructive ever got done while the rethuglicans had control of all levels of government.

They excel at bogging down the process of making government work as it should.

9. I like this comment
They have to do something to take away the power that Obama and his crew are going to have with so many Demos and that is a fact.

Gee I guess the electorate didn't elect all of those "Demos"

10. I'm gonna guess that there are a handful of Repubs that would
vote to override the fillibuster. Cornyn should have been defeated by Noriega!

11. I guess it's easier for Cornyn to fight ridiculous battles instead of fixing his own party
I'm not going to stop republicans from digging their own grave so if they want to fight the man who got more votes and will eventually be seated, then so be it. Whatever keeps them distracted from fixing their broken party I suppose.
