1. More than that, his access to 'classified federal security information'.
No one can run a state without that, I'm thinking.

But why can someone relay info to him if he's not supposed to have access? :wtf:

From the article:

Gov. Blagojevich's access to classified federal security information was revoked by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security after he was charged last month with trying to sell a Senate seat to the highest bidder, officials confirmed Friday.

Every governor is given such a clearance by Homeland Security to receive briefings on sensitive security information from Homeland Security and other federal agencies such as the FBI, said Amy Kudwa, spokeswoman for Homeland Security.

"Being the subject of a criminal complaint, no matter who you are, is a disqualification," she said.

State Police Director Larry Trent and Illinois Emergency Management Agency Director Andrew Velasquez — as well as other top state officials — have access to such federal security intelligence and could relay it to the governor, said Patti Thompson, spokeswoman for the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.

2. What an effin' three ring circus it's gotten to be.
If this guy hasn't known for the better part of a year that Fitzgerald was closing in on him, he's the only person in Illinois who didn't. I mean, what kind of sleazebag does the guy have to be that even Dick Mell won't talk to him?

And if he gave a damn about what's best for the State of Illinois or the Democratic Party, or even the image of either, he'd have resigned months ago and tried to be really, really quiet for a really, really long time. But what he lacks in ethics, he makes up for in ego and he's fueled by bravado and nothing else. So he hangs on and keeps the State govermnemt tied up in knots and makes Illinois a laughing stock.

The only good thing that might come of all this might be at least a little cleaning up of the politics in this state, though I'm not even holding out much hope of that.

4. OH FUCKING GREAT!
This now makes Chicago a huge target.

Thanks a lot, Blago. You've put my wife and my lives at risk all for your own fucked up ego.
