17. We've got four cats. I really must post some pics of them.

Especially my boy Lucky 'The Election Kitty'. He looks a little like your Little Guy.

Why do I call him the election kitty? Because I found him the day after the stolen election of 2004. He was nearly dead, a tiny little furry black thing that was hardly breathing. I felt that he was emblematic of our democracy, lying broken in the dust.

Well: that little nearly dead black furry thing is now the healthiest little shit you ever did see, and he's the apple of my eye. He's dozing peacefully next to me on the couch as I write this.

Cats are one of the fine things in life. Just don't let Lucky get anywhere near your window shades. He's ruined every one in the house. It's a damn good thing I love him so much....

Little Guy was a Christmas present two years ago to "Big Guy" (a rotund Manx that had move in that previous October.) I knew that soon I wouldn't be around the house much and I wanted him to have some company. Didn't quite work out. Big Guy didn't give a wit about Little Guy, and Little Guy bonded with me. Still, we all get along (most of the time!)

I don't know if I can listen to this show again . My wife and I were so far from the X-mas spirit but we did wake at 6 am and she made our traditional turkey dinner and we listened to have yourself a merry little Christmas by the Pretenders and a tape her brother sent many years ago with traditional X-mas songs on an old boom box and we felt like we were part of the season and I miss that day.
