Wexler Blasts Foreign Leaders Over Gaza
South Florida Congressman Robert Wexler said today he was ``deeply disappointed’’ by some foreign leaders who chastised Israel for its airstrikes in Gaza and did not condemn Hamas rocket attacks on Israel.

“It is unconscionable for anyone to expect that the Israeli government, or any other government for that matter, to sit idly as thousands of deadly rockets rain down on their cities and threaten the well-being and security of their citizens,’’ Wexler said.

He and other members of Congress rallied around Israel.

Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Weston added her voice: "Over the past few days, it has pained me to hear the unfair and unjust criticism of Israel as she strives to protect her citizens from Hamas' attacks . . . All parties must work swiftly toward a renewal of the truce, and ultimately, peace."

AIPAC, the pro-Israel lobby, urged Congress and the Bush administration to stand firm with Israel.

1. And the world still wonders why so many Americans are so damned ignorant???
The only wonder is how so many Americans actually can see through this one-sided bullshit.

this is bush's mindset, good vs evil bullshit.

both sides Israel and Palestine should come to resolution and we should be (but we are not) the objective/rational party. I guess I am just dreaming.

6. Actually it's political survival. Jewish politicians had better back Israel NO MATTER WHAT
or they lose their financial and electoral support.

Sad, but true.

There may be a few who speak out against this but they are rare. Which is amazing considering how many Israelis are against this travesty.

7. Wexler and Wasserman Schultz should run for the Knesset.
Seems like they're mored concerned with the Israeli national interest than the American national interest.
