C-Span had an excellent part of a conference on about lobbying yesterday.
Here's the link and something I wrote in an email to my old Obama volunteers in my community:

American University's conference on lobbying continues. Today's panels, hosted by AU's Public Affairs & Advocacy Institute, consider lobbying and Executive-Legislative branch relations and strategies for advocacy building. This segment was presented by Greg Simon who worked for Al Gore and has been on Obama's Transition Team. Very inspirational, motivating talk. Must watch when you have time!

I only wish we could get involved together and make our local community a voice first through "trade associations", then through the "state delegations" all the way to Washington. Lots of good illustrations and comparative history in this lecture, too.
