Now I'm Depressed - I Just Watched "Maxed Out" On Showtime.....

it's about the credit-card crisis in America. Looks like it was done in 2005-6 timespan. Showed how the credit-card companies are taking advantage of us and seemed prophetic of the current financial crisis we're in. Talked about the chasm between rich and poor and that it is growing wider by the day. Talked about wiping out the 'middle-class'. Really showed Congress as a contributor to the whole situation. It damned Reagan, Bush 1 and 2 and even clipped Clinton. Showed how the big financial companies particularly MBNA funded the bankruptcy bill.

I just happened to be switching channels this a.m. and caught this as it started and wound up watching the whole documentary. It was well done and very depressing. If you haven't seen it - you should take it in. Looks like it will be rebroadcast in the wee hours of Monday a.m. on Showtime.

I sure do hope that Obama and his team have seen this. Maybe they can help make some changes.

the Senator from Mastercard, now VP-Elect, Joe Biden. So much for supporting the common man. Takes more than riding the Amtrak to do that, dude.

Corporations can declare bankruptcy with no problem but not individuals and he was a strong supporter.
