Did'ya ever notice? (channeling Andy Rooney)
When republicans win, it's smashmouth...kick in the doors..take no prisoners..F-YOU to any and every democrat within range..

There are bold proclamations of "mandates", and boastings of how "elections have consequences"..

The party leaders have no trouble locking OUT the dems from participation..even LITERALLY locking them out of conference rooms.

They see nothing wrong at all about stink-bombing legislation, just because they CAN...

While "in charge" , they cannot resist a microphone or tv camera.. They simply must preen and belittle democrats, and claim all credit for themselves..except for when they NEED a little bipartisan cover for a really bad bill.. That's when they trot out Joe Lieberman, goose him so he smiles nice & wide, and when the whole thing collapses in horrifying piles, they claim it was a BIPARTISAN bill FOSTERED by the democRATS..

BUT...

When they lose..and are not the majority, all of a sudden it's of UTMOST importance that the democrat who won, court the republicans, and invite them into the fold.. They are ever-so accommodating as they suggest and cajole.. N democrat can ever be really successful, unless he/she is "bipartisan".."post partisan"..

When they are OUT of favor, they are so eager to join up with their "democRAT friends across the aisle".. They KEEP saying it..over and over and over....well, except for the times when they run, like whiny little brats, over to Fox to complain about how the democrats do not respect them.. and how they are JUST TRYING TO HELP, but the democRATS are not inviting enough of them to rule alongside them.

They are paragons of reconciliation and kinship when they lose, (until they finally realize that they are NOT going to play a pivotal role)..

Every channel you turn to, has a republican on the screen, imporing the democrats to listen to their sage advice.. They know how to govern, and are only trying to be helpful.. They could however, be of even MORE help, once the democrats invite them into the adminsitration, and offer them positions.

In a perverse way, they are correct. Who better to get advice from, on the economy, than the people who took the money? The ones who shredded the constitution would also know where they hid all the little ripped up pieces.. Ask a fireman..often the ones who set the fire are quite eager to participate in putting it out.

Democrats are expected to share, when they win. and republicans expect democrats to share when democrats win. The flipside? not so much.

1. What I'm noticing right now is Dems on the left ripping Obama & each other to shreds
Yes, I am heartily sick of seeing Repubs and Cons on the TV machine telling us what to do, but they are dogs and I expect no less from them.

What is breaking my heart is what's going on here.

However, it turns out Swampg8r is offering sticky-buns and coffee, so I ducked in there for awhile. It was very consoling.

2. I agree......very frustrating...espcecially when they continue to flaunt
there "Chrisitian principles."

Yet is always the big-tent, "seperation of church and state" Democrats who have to make nicey-nice.

It is cyclical and I can only hope at one point, it will stop.

3. Well said. And why does our Nancy Pelosi Wing, 80% of Democrats, it seems, keep
coming back for more and doing the same thing over and over again?

I have great hopes for Obama. Do his cabinet choices disturb me? They sure do. Does the Nancy Pelosi Wing's continual run to the Right only to be pissed on and scoffed at by the Bushies (re: Auto Bailout) even though they kissed those Bushie asses at high noon at Macy's and told those Bushies their asses smelled like roses.

:puke:

I keep hoping and praying that Obama really DID m4ean most of those things he said (let's be realistic - no one is perfect) and that REAL change is coming.

Because REAL change may be the only thing that can still save Old America, now back on life support.

The signs are bad from Obama early on, but we cannot judge until he has been in office for awhile. he IS a canny strategist and may be thinking three steps ahead.

But if it's more of the same old same old? Then Obama is only a brief rest, and maybe not much of one at that, considering the Bushies have left the country a smouldering ruin in eevry possible way, until Jeb comes along and picks up as if Obama never happened, 4 or 8 years.

God, let it be not so.

Having said that, can you tell me why our Congressional Democrats are such a pathetic toadying bunch, 80% of them? Have they no pride? Can they not see what the Bushie Not-Sees have made them into, a Wategate Conspirator's Wet Dream of neutralized self-interested, principle-less cowards?

Does not it take two to tango?
