It seems if a dem has done wrong, republicans will try and impeach straight away, perhaps the good guys can learn from this.

6. Oh that there were a banana republic anywhere that practiced impeachment. but alas, none do.
They may have their governments overthrown by our tax dollars, sure, but that isn't impeachment, that's imperialism.

And it's not really imperialism, it's instability.

4. Both chambers of the Illinois General Assembly are Dem-controlled.

If that's what you're talking about, you can rest assured that no Republican sponsored impeachment will ever see the light of day. The real movement towards impeachment in Illinois is being led by Democrats. Therefore your point is not founded in any practical reality.

10. illinois has no provision for impeachment in it's constitution, iirc....
so now they have to write the laws in a certain kind of ex-post facto manner.

12. i was going by what they were saying on the radio yesterday...
here in the chicago area,it's a big topic- and a state rep was saying that it's never happened before, and that there's no provision, and that they are basically going to have to write the laws as they go along. since the guy was in the state government, and involved in the process, i assumed he was correct.
