Symbolman and family.
You can come here! I have a tent! And a fire pit! There are plenty of properties for squatting! AZ has been devastated by the richies. You have a home as long as I do!

1. Or, if you prefer Texas
I own a big house, and the entire upstairs is empty. Y'all can stay with me, rent free, until you get back on your feet. But, I hope you like cats.....

3. And I mean every word of it!
I was once almost homeless myself (with my daughter), and I, too have had a house foreclosed....It sucks rocks!

I'm in the country in central Texas, just north of the Austin area. We haven't been hit much by the recession (depression) or slump in housing prices. There are still employment opportunities here and prices of everything here are low compared with the east and west coasts, and our winters are very mild compared to the mid-west. It's a good place to start over, I've done it several times.

15. Trailrider1951 I love you (although not necessarily in the romantic sense)
1. You live in Austin (I lived there for 6 years: 1976-1982)

2. You made this most amazing offer.

3. Your sig line speaks directly to me.

Keep the faith, sister.

18. Your home reminds me of the Texas I knew as a kid
Love your house! I see myself with my cousins playing out in the yard with the big trees. Your house could have been my Great Grandmother Olson's house in Cransfills Gap.

19. Wow!
What a great house. I'm simply stunned by the generosity of DUers. Thank you so much.

We're working on getting our stuff together here.

Just last week, I thought things were working out and looking up for once and that everything was going to be okay. And then that delusion came to a screeching halt on Friday...

10. The shadow family might have to join your squatter community LSN
Edited on Mon Dec-15-08 08:46 AM by shadowknows69
We're currently awating our eviction notice and there are NO apartments around here we can afford. At this point I'd almost rather live outside than under the slumlord that has made our lives a nightmare for two years now.

20. Symbolman has a blog, maybe he could be reached through that?
http://www.takebackthemedia.com/

He updated the day before yesterday, so maybe he could be contacted to let him know about Trailrider's offer?

21. Symbolman sent me a pm
I've got his back if his first choice falls through. If he takes offer #1, I'm going to see if I can help someone else. I've tried to rent out the upstairs (for cheap) and the people I've contacted do not want to live out in the country, they all wanted Austin. Oh, well, I guess I can take in a DU'er or two. Shadowknows, ever been to Texas?

22. It's a very kind thing you're doing Trailrider.
Somebody in need will appreciate it, I'm sure, whether it's Symbolman or someone else. I have no doubt that while Austin is a lovely city, your country town will have just the quiet charm that somebody seeking a slower pace, and more personal space will desire.

Thank you for being so generous!
