I was once almost homeless myself (with my daughter), and I, too have had a house foreclosed....It sucks rocks!

I'm in the country in central Texas, just north of the Austin area. We haven't been hit much by the recession (depression) or slump in housing prices. There are still employment opportunities here and prices of everything here are low compared with the east and west coasts, and our winters are very mild compared to the mid-west. It's a good place to start over, I've done it several times.

I've tried to rent out the upstairs (for cheap) and the people I've contacted do not want to live out in the country, they all wanted Austin. Oh, well, I guess I can take in a DU'er or two.
