Rethugs Filibustering the Minimum Wage Increase
Edited on Fri Jan-26-07 12:39 PM by Homer12
Is just another Nail in their Political Coffin.

Most low wage workers will smell their foul pro-corporate anti-poor and worker stench, if they haven't gotten it already. It's not very moderate of Thugs.

Their arrogance and narrow world view will be the death of their party, and it will be all THEIR fault.

We do have to take on that task.

14. The US senate has voted not to pass an unamended minimum wage law.
The US senate has voted not to pass an unamended minimum wage law.

To the people please call your local Wendy's, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster and Olive Garden restaurants, each of these companies gives money to the Republican party. Tell the manager that you will never patronize their restaurant again until

1. Your parent company stops giving money to the Republican party.

2. Your CEO gets the house and senate to get a clean law enacted raising the minimum wage to $10 an hour.

Unless you punish the friends of the Republican party, you will have a tough effort to get Republicans to do anything to help the less fortunate in this country.

Will you please spread this message around? Thank you.

6. I'm not so sure about that, 80%+ are for the minimum wage increase
There's no silver lining for the repukes in blocking massively popular legislation.

3. They aren't afraid of what it would do to the economy.
They're afraid of what it would do for people on the bottom.

Republicans love the huge difference in power between people who are poor and people who are rich and they're against anything that would close that gap and make America a stronger country.

4. I hope the Dems are learning a lesson.
Use the G.D. filibuster already!

If those pukes will use it over this VERY popular bill... then why the heck didn't the Dems when it was something that actually SHOULD have been filibustered?

15. But...but... they had the Gang of 14 to negotiate
And as a result the republicans got every damn thing they wanted passed without a fight.

7. Remember how they highlighted the dems judicial filibuster?
They pulled an all nighter talking about dem obstructionism and filled the air waves with rhetoric about how the public wanted them to get things done.

I wish the dems would drag this one out until they could get sound bites of EVERY SINGLE repub opposing a min wage hike favored by 9 out of 10 Americans.

8. Democracy at work.
Let the republicans filibuster all they want. Their shortsided positions are and will be eternally cited in the Congressional Record.

9. With all the tax relief business has gotten since the last min wage
increase, this is unbelievable. If the working class wants to survive, Cheap Labor Conservatives have to be voted out of office !

12. Up or down vote! Up or down vote!
I'm sure that Rush and Michael and Laura and Sean and Bill will all be yammering nonstop about the sanctity of an up-or-down vote on this issue, right?

Crickets!
