Breaking: Bush to Iraq plan opponents in Congress: 'I am the decision-maker.'
Edited on Fri Jan-26-07 10:49 AM by RamboLiberal
Both CNN and MSNBC have this up as Breaking News on their websites.

On edit from CNN:

Bush: "I'm the decision-maker" on Iraq
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush, on a collision course with Congress over Iraq, said Friday "I'm the decision-maker" about sending more troops to the war. He challenged skeptical lawmakers not to prematurely condemn his plan.

"I've picked the plan that I think is most likely to succeed," Bush said in an Oval Office meeting with senior military advisers.

The president had strong words for lawmakers on both sides of the aisle who are lining up to support resolutions opposing his decision to send 21,500 troops to Iraq. He challenged them to put up their own ideas. "Some are condemning a plan before it's even had a chance to work," he said.

Congress needs to smack and Dickie upside the head.

3. He actually said a derivative of "I'm the decider" again???
Could a board of reknowned psychiatrists declare this guy unfit for office or something fucking please?

7. If he and Cheney continue in their joint delusions then ...
I think it's time to question their fitness for office. Whether they're insane or not if they refuse to face facts and recognize reality they are unfit for office.

4. This is reason alone for Impeachment... The President has no Constitutional
leg to stand on for such statements. After 2 years Bush has no more authority to continue such declarations.

6. Good heavens
This plan hasn't worked two times before, as Speaker Pelosi told Stupidhead to his face. Why does he think it's going to work now? Because Stupidhead told the generals that it has to work. Unasked is the question why Stupidhead didn't tell the generals that it had to work the last two times.

And Bush says that this is the plan most likely to succeed in his estimation. Which is based on . . . what? His famous "gut" feelings, which have consigned so many thousands to premature deaths over the last four years? And he has the nerve to "challenge" the opposition to come up with its own ideas. We've given you ideas (Democratic, Republican, the Iraq Study Group) by the bushel basket, Mr. Bush; what does it take to get it through your skull?

And more to the point, what does it take for CNN to quit acting as administration stenographer, and present some facts that contradict the demented rantings of a man who can't face reality?

8. Condemning a plan before it's had a chance to work
Well, gee, do I need to have 100 people jump out of an airplane without a parachute and see what happens to know that plan is bad? In Bush's case we already have that track record, and everything he's done has turned to shit so why should we trust this new "plan?"

13. Exactly
He's had 4 years to make his plan work. It hasn't. It's been a colossal failure on a global scale. And now he wants to give us more of the same and have us expect that a different result will be achieved. No wonder the Congressional Dems are skeptical, they damned well should be!

12. That's some f*cking bipartisanship there, Chimpy!
Bipartisanship means you work together and compromise with those who disagree with you, not that you get to enforce your will on Congress regardless of what they want. It's called Congressional oversight! But then again, that's a concept outlined in the Constitution, and we all know how highly revered that document is to you. Asshole!

14. Here is the crux of the problem
"I've picked the plan that I think is most likely to succeed," Bush said in an Oval Office meeting with senior military advisers.

He was also the one that "thought" Iraq would be a cakewalk.
He was also the one that "thought" Saddam had WMD.
He was also the one that "thought" Brown was a good FEMA director.
He was also the one that "thought" the Iraq war was necessary in the first place....even though they had no WMD, had no ties to Al Quaeda, had absolutely nothing to do with 911, and were a contained beaten down third rate nation in the middle east.

He has been so very wrong on so many counts after 6 long years, that America has lost all confidence in his leadership.

Nobody wants to follow you anymore George. And very soon--if you bluster loud long and hard enough--America will forcefully show you the door......to your prison cell.

26. No, in your case it was the Supreme Court who was the "decision maker"
Without them, you'd be back in Texas sucking on a bottle of Lone Star while driving another business into the ground and thinking about the baby you and Robin never had...
