A friend told me his Blackwater friend was assigned to the inauguration

5. Mercs can be tricky

I used to work with one who claimed he worked freelance for South Africa and some other places, this was at height of 1980's Raygun diplomacy, so it was believable. The company that I was at, it was local military contractor, it was subsidized by military-industrial complex. He even held Kruggerands, which supposed were boycotted during the apartheid era.

He claimed to have threatened Pres. Carter, but he just got interviewed/grilled by the feds over it. That part I never could verify and I wasn't sure about it. His gripe was related to military benefits or retirement money, I think. Was that a Carter policy, who knows? It wasn't so profitable to be in the invasion business back then.
