Official Iraq Invasion Anniversary Protest Picture Thread.
In honor of the fallen, in honor of our veterans, and in honor of the people who worked to prevent and now, to end this war, post your pictures here.

Here are some from the San Francisco Chronicle on our Sunday March. (Daniel Ellsberg spoke! And, yes, Free the Cuban Five! lol)

Link to SF Chron article which undercounts our attendance. (Shame on you, Rosie.)

3. Thanks and lucky you with nice weather. We had 29 degress and a biting wind.
My husband commented that it always seems we have no luck with the weather when protests (and coming from OH we've incurred many) occur. Even the one I attended in the summer, had 90's and high humidity. We had a decent turn out, though. Thanks for the photos. :hi:

Thanks, mod mom, for going out there anyway.

In January, the first thing we did when we hit DC was to buy thermal underwear.

5. Whew! Here's what I got. First one is Rosa listening to Dan Ellsberg
:woohoo:

We were walking just behind this sign.

The SFPD was out en force. I told one officer, it's a nice day for a march. She said, "You BET it is."

Skaters for Peace! Thank you, kids!

Our City Hall never looks so good as when it's all dressed up in citizens.

11. Day of protests
Edited on Sun Mar-18-07 10:26 PM by cal04

Denouncing a conflict entering its fifth year, thousands of protesters marched against the Iraq war on Sunday in New York, Washington, D.C., San Francisco.

Protesters calling for the end of funding for the war or the immediate return of U.S. troops converged on a park near the United Nations headquarters in new York.

Union members, representatives of Rev. Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow-PUSH Coalition, war veterans and others joined the demonstration, one of several staged during the weekend across the country to mark the fourth anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

21. Love that last fella's specs...
what a groovy get-up! Wonder what his helmet says?

These are all truly inspiring (to one who remembers the old days, well); hope more of our young'uns will pick up the message & join us in the streets tomorrow. Traffic will be "delayed" in Seattle, lol...the news has already been giving alternate routes for those who won't be able to bear the sight of those calling for the War to STOP, NOW!

15. US in second day of Iraq rallies

(snip)
Saturday's protests also took place outside the US - in European capitals and in Australia.

Spain's protests were the largest in Europe, with some estimates putting the number of people taking part at 100,000.

16. Well, I'm a little pissed off...
I'd come up from San Jose, where I'm attending a business conference starting tomorrow. I'd booked a tour to the Muir Woods and Sausalito for today. So, I get off the Muni at the Embarcadero station, and the tail end of the protest is heading down Market Street. All of the public transportation is TOTALLY STOPPED. Naturally, I'm relying on the streetcars to get to where I'm supposed to meet the tour. Not only were things bolluxed up because of the protest, but there was some unknown dignitary in town whose motorcade was passing the Ferry Building right as I got there. The tour wouldn't pick me up, because it was too late to do pickups, and they weren't going in that direction. At least they refunded my money.

I had bad transportation karma today. Oh, well. At least I spent the day having fun before my boring conference. Oh, and the signs were great, too! I'll post some pics that I got later.

29. Yes we had a lot of kids
But we didn't have nearly as many people as last year. Moveon messed up the date on the email they sent out. We tried to correct it but that was like talking to the wall over there. So I doubt we will use moveon to send out event listings anymore.

Last year we had 2000, this year, maybe 200.

But we did have our congressman and he was GREAT.
