WJ this morning: Oh look at those protests
Edited on Sun Mar-18-07 06:12 AM by malaise
Discussion on anti-war rallies (note the word being used). They want participants to call. Come on DUers.

Protests across the globe mentioned.
Add.

2. Callers are saying that the pro-war folks were pretty abusive
and violent.

A pro-war attendee claimed there were 30,000 pro-war folks.

The host of the program questioned that claim.

6. The habit of lying is tough to break, I hear.
self-delusion must exist in order that the Kool-Aid have a pleasant taste. :-)

The host was pretty incredulous over the number that woman reported.

4. I called in
I'm Nancy Maynard from Woodbridge and we witnessed abuse all along the march, from the pro-war protesters. We met a couple of women who were attacked, and the police were macing people. We are used to abuse because we demonstrate in our own area, but I'm glad I wasn't the only one to point this out. These pro-war people are vicious, violent and vile.

7. Thanks for calling in.
It makes sense that pro-war folks would be aggressive toward fellow citizens.

If they insist on calling anti-war folks "Communists" perhaps the pro-war folks would be better described as "Brownshirts"?

5. I heard that too, then next caller
said there were thousands more protesting against the war, than for the war. The people for the war were violent.

Then the last caller suggested that those people for the war, should go over to fight it.

8. I got in an argument with two of the pro-war
people. They were really horrible and looked like murderers..seriously. They just looked evil. One shouted at my mom and said "hey bitch, thanks for killing our troops". I turned right around and got in his face and said "the only people who are killing our troops are nazi assholes like you who keep them there, put on a flight suit and head out for Iraq if you're so tough, asshole". He just said "bullshit" and walked away LOL.

She was asked to repeat it, and she said it again! Another lie-through-your-teeth Republican.

12. Just saw two pro-war Vietnam Vets interviewed (marines)
The men said they were guarding the Vietnam Veterans Memorial from descration and vandalism by anti-war --- quote -- "fools".

Huh?

Since when was the Vietnam Veterans Memorial ever targeted for vandalism and desecration by protestors against the Iraq War?

13. I called one of them a Nazi
Edited on Sun Mar-18-07 07:18 AM by BayCityProgressive
and he said "so what, I'd rather be a nazi than a communist." Shows where these people are at politically. I won't be surprised if we soon have right-wing paramilitary groups prowling the streets of the US. Oh wait, we have the Minutemen already...
