Best picture of John McCain from election night

Here he is in Phoenix during his concession speech, trying to get the stupid-ass "supporters" who booed when he mentioned Obama's name to STFU.

He genuinely looks tired of their shit.

3. He is like "settle down, knuckle-draggers."
I doubt he had any real idea what he was in for when he buddied up with the far right in a misguided effort to win. But by the end, he must have known.

10. He should have learned that lesson from Goldwater
Goldwater was chosen and backed by the religious anti-communist right. He realized too late that he was a tool of the "kooks" and gave up even trying to win for them. He knew they were poison.

McCain must have thought he was a better man than Goldwater.

He wasn't.

5. How many times did he say, "My Friends"?
My fellow prisoners? Nothing like that, right?

He is sick to death of them and can you blame him.

7. Poor old Blighter. He really did show a lot of courage, persevering on the stump like
that. Young men find presidential campaigns like a tornado, but at his age? How mad and desperate can the Republicans be? We know that now.

8. People are saying his speech was conciliatory, gracious.. I think he should have gone out there and
said, yes we lied. We lied about this and we lied about that and no, it isn't true, President elect Obama isn't a socialist, and no, he doesn't pal around with terrorists, etc etc etc.

Without coming out and saying that, his supporters will still believe all of that shit is true and they will not get over this election.

Big sigh.....glad I got that out!!!

:hi:

11. They would never believe him even if he did!

See, the way the GOPer brain works is: it can only handle one piece of information.

Once that information has been implanted, it stays. Nothing can dislodge it.

McCain, "Obama is a socialist!" GOPers, "Obama is a socialist!"

McCain, "I'm sorry, but I only called Obama a socialist because I thought it would help me win!" GOPers, "Obama is a socialist!"

McCain, "Please stop saying that; it isn't true!" GOPers, "Obama is a socialist!"

And so on and so on.

Didn't matter at all - the dirty work had already been done.

If he had hauled off and punched Palin in the face instead of saying anything at all.
