KO will be flattered by Ben Aflect's SNL Parody of his Countdown Show
Please check this video out at SNL.

It's hilarious. Please remember that they are MORPHING Keith's positions.

The parts with Richard Wolfe and "The Co-op Board" special comment made me laugh until I had tears in my eyes.

I love KO ... this impersonation by Ben Aflect was HILARIOUS!

"REMEMBER the rights of Miss Precious Perfect will not be denied!?!"

1. I thought it was lousy
as was the rest of Ben Aflect's performance. With the exception of the QVC skit, the rest of the show was only so so. I have never seen a Ben Aflect movie, but I would hope he is a better actor than I saw last night.

6. I concur
It was a dumb sketch. It would have been better if he played O'Reilly.

8. Gee, I guess the "no sense of humbleness" with humor does not just extend to the right wing?
It wouldn't be funny if he did O'Reilly.

Why? Satire is lost on O'Reilly because he is just that inane.

5. To each his/her own. Personally I think Ben Afflect "rocked" tonight as he has on many of
his movies. My favorite movie with Afflect was "Dogma."

Ben Afflect & Keith Olbermann :yourock:

7. Wow, after he had Keith's facial features down pat? I guess I'm just wired to see the humor in
parodies of EVEN people whom I admire.

I think Keith will be flattered as he does have humbleness in his nature.

now I don't feel alone. :-)

p.s. my husband was watching me cry from laughing with a curious look on his face. He didn't find it funny either.

Again, to each his own. Thanks again. :hi:

9. thanks for reminding me why I stopped watching snl years ago.
Affleck obviously went to the same drama school Chevy Chase attended. I wonder just how much floss he needed to get the scenery bits out from between his teeth?

Flattered by this? KO would have to have really low standards... :puke:

insult. It's not an insult because KO never (not ever) disrespects Richard Wolfe. I don't know if he has a cat named "Miss Precious Perfect" but that segment was gut-splittingly funny.

Oh well, I guess that's why I break out "Dogma", "Nuns on the Run", "Kill Bill Vols I and II" , "Vacation" , "European Vacation" and "Christmas Vacation" and other so called TERRIBLE movies whenever I need to remind myself to not take life too seriously.

I don't get the sour puss attitude ... further, don't be disrespecting one of my comic Idols ... second only to George Carlin. :(

Chevy Chase :loveya:

16. Sorry I'm not a fan of lowbrow schtick
And I'd like to remind you that Affleck (note the correct spelling) received an Oscar for CO-writing a screenplay. CO -- meaning it wasn't 100% his creation. I'd consider it safe to assume that Matt Damon was the driving genius behind the story - especially as he's had a far more promising career than the "Daredevil" guy -- which flopped big time.

That having been said, SNL is nothing like it was a decade ago. And Affleck is a terrible actor. He's done nothing of note lately. Dogma was written by Kevin Smith (who is brilliant) - Affleck was a paid actor, he had nothing to do with the creation of that film, other than showing up and hitting his marks.

Too bad you get so tweaked over other people voicing their opinions. In the real world grownups can and do have differing opinions, and don't resort to namecalling when their feelings are hurt.

And if you think that Affleck is second only to Carlin -- uhh, perhaps it's time to start renting other videos of real comics? Affleck is NO comedian, even by a longshot. He's as good a comic as he is an actor. Which isn't saying much AT ALL. :eyes:

Affleck didn't catch Keith's mannerisms at all.

18. The proof whether Keith likes it or not will be if he shows it
on Countdown. Affleck did Chris Matthews a while ago and Chris thought it was wonderful. He really appreciates a good take off on himself. We'll see how much of a sense of humor has if he shows this clip or not.

I thought it was funny

19. I really don't care whether Keith likes it or not. He's not the boss of me :-)
and I didn't like it. This guy is funnier:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4llHNTMZjE

I don't get it how people think that the only possible reason someone could not think this was that funny is because they "have no sense of humor" or "can't stand to see Keith ridiculed." I LOVE to see Keith poked fun at--but the worst sin is not to make it FUNNY. And this wasn't funny because it just didn't stick that closely to the real Keith.

Really, they could have even made the part about the cat (which doesn't seem anything like the real Keith at all) funny (just like the guy above made the Subway sandwich rant funny) if they had actually written it better. And Affleck just doesn't do that good a Keith. Not even with help from Keith!
