Crapo pays homage to Craig in Senate speech

WASHINGTON - Idaho Sen. Mike Crapo paid tribute to retiring Sen. Larry Craig in a speech Thursday to the Senate, lauding Craig's defense of private property rights and support for agriculture, veterans and senior citizens.

Craig will leave office in January after three six-year Senate terms and five two-year House terms. The Idaho Republican is still fighting to reverse his guilty plea for misdemeanor disorderly conduct in a gay-sex sting last year in the Minneapolis airport.
