Voter complains when all poll workers wear red
A Johnson County voter was apparently upset Friday because of the apparel of some election workers.

All five workers at one registration table at 60th and Lamar wore red shirts and/or sweaters -- as a joke, they said, because they thought telling voters "take your form to the person in red" would bring some comic relief.

One voter, unamused, accused the workers of trying to subtly influence voters' decisions (presumably for the Republicans.)

So some of the workers went home and changed clothes.

2. This doesn't help us

I'm as paranoid as they come but clothing is the last thing I'd make a stink about at my polling place. Maybe time to switch to decaf?

4. This was my reaction as well
This is where I voted, right up the street from my house. Yes this is a Republican county in a red state but the poll workers have always been very nice and professional and I don't think we have ever had any problems with voting in our county.

11. I disagree
In my part of the planet party colors are banned within 100ft of all polling stations.

5. Actually the first thing I think of when I see a red shirt is Star Trek
And I'd probably think: Oh my God! These poor people are all doomed!!!

7. Well this is also KC Chiefs territory
And we have red Fridays where the whole city is wearing red. Guess this voter stays home on those Fridays. LOL

6. Secret messages from red shirts? The guy should stick to listening to his toaster.
Or, have his meds adjusted.

10. Well, I am not so sure.
When I see someone wearing bright red on election day, I always think he/she is a republican.

12. But what if his toaster is a Republican, like mine is?
I'm not listening to him spew his talking points first thing every morning.

I have to nod my head like I agree with him or he'll burn my bagel.

13. Suggestions.
Take the liberal approach and tell it that you feel it's pain.
Take the socialist approach and offer free mental health care.
Take the communist approach and send it to the Gulag.
Take the capitalist approach and tell it that, one day, it will be a toaster oven.
Take the fascist approach and put it in the oven.
Take the Anarchist approach, chuck it in the trash, and have black coffee and cigarettes for breakfast.

16. You want me to reason politically with a toaster?
Do you have any clue as to how reactionary they really are?
You realize that there is no logical argument I could employ that would put a dent in his shiny stainless steel soul?

There will be no Hegelian dialectic at the breakfast table at my house, I'm sorry to say.

And he bitches when I smoke, anyway. Says it's his job not to, why should I?

9. Well, the electorate is touchy this year.
 It's a bit of an overreaction, but understandable.
