Here's what I think about the polls we're seeing ....
I think they're under sampling young people, Hispanic people, and most particularly, black people.

I think the black vote will be astonishing this cycle. Not in the percentage that votes Democratic, but in the volume of voters. I have not met a black person who isn't voting for Obama. On its face, that statement is unremarkable. I never met any that didn't vote for Kerry or Gore or Clinton or .........

What is different this cycle is the unbridled enthusiasm with which they say they're voting ***for*** Obama.

Yes, I live in an area with a higher than average percentage of black people. But I'm here to say .... from my own personal observation, the difference this time is very real. Its palpable. It is IN THE AIR. You just need to go out and you can FEEL it.

This really IS going to be different.

1. Husb2Sparkly I couldn't agree more...
I have been saying this for awhile...the polls that are being presented cannot be trusted.

I am not that mathmatical but common sense dictates that if the number of registered voters has increased by at least 5 to 1 in favor of the Democratic party then common sense would dicatate that if those same new registered voters show up in early voting and at the polls the statistics should be much higher then what the MSM is reporting.

Just as you noted the Hispanic, Black and Youth vote will break all records. But another demographic that the MSM is staying away from is the former or current Republicans that are voting for the Democratic party...this number could be extremely high.

The MSM will act like it's surprised when the numbers prove us right.

4. I especially agree with your statement
regarding former or current Republicans that are voting dem this time. I know several. On the other hand, I don't know any dems voting Republican. That is also why I think that the "Puma" crap is just that, crap. That may also have been why the repub's were saying....see, see ..we have a bunch...a whole bunch, I mean a big big bunch of disastisfied Hillary voters. That's big time BS. Every Puma I've listened to in the MSM sounds like a died in the wool Freeper. Notice they also aren't trotting out their little cadre of fake Hillary supporters anymore either.

3. As Rachel Maddow says ... "Talk me down!"
... my logical brain and gut tell me "we got this" ... but then my lived under 8 years of Bush brain and gut start to chirp and I get anxious about the fucked up tricks they're going to pull, including farking with poll numbers to make a McCain 'squeaker victory' look all the more 'impressive' (Think: Dewey Defeats Truman).

6. we've got good gotv
that's gonna be key to getting these new and minority voters to the polls ___ that's why I think that we should exhibit the most confidence we can manage and keep our pessimism and cynicism at bay. These are voters who have just begun to believe . . .

7. Stay paranoid, not over-confident
When the enemy is the Rethugs,
it's always close enough to steal.
Especially due to the nightmare visions of criminal prosecutions, criminal convictions, and bright orange jump suits if a President Obama takes over the Oval Office. Anything and everything goes.
As the DU headliners says,
"Bush Orders DOJ to Probe Ohio Voter Registrations"
Can martial law and suspended elections be too far fetched?
For the veteran combat hardened troops of Northern Command are deployed already, just awaiting the lawful orders to do their patriotic duty shooting down the american civil disobedients protesting in the streets against the martial law and suspended elections.
