Can somebody help me out and just explain to me what is going on in the most balanced way possible? I have been following this, but never completely understood what started it all, so I am a little lost. Can somebody just explain what is going on, and what both sides of this issue think? Thanks

Post is an enemy of Democrats - nearly all the time. It is extremely right wing.

10. Make sure and study the changes in law regarding attorney appts to the Patriot Act...

... and how they got surreptiously snuck in by Arlen Specter at the last minute. Even he's now trying to blame it on a staffer of his. It's a big attempt to cover up one of the bigger power grabs and means to cover up many other messes that are going on now and facilitate the Orwellian world that this administration is famous for of promoting their spin that is contrary to reality.

4. Looks like Rove and team orchestrated the removal and

replacement of several U.S. Prosecuting Attorneys (who serve at the pleasure of the President). The Attorneys accepted their removal (read firing), but the word started spreading as each Atty left office. Diane Feinstein really went after the firings because of Carol Lam in CA who prosecuted the trials of Cunningham and was working on residual cases that resulted from the Cunningham trial. There was a firing in Guam where the Atty was prosecuting an Abramhoff crime. They are saying the Arkansas one is to put a Rovian in the spot so they can go after Hillary for the same things that Starr went after.

The team said the firings were for poor performance, but most received excellent reviews.

The Senate held hearings and asked and subpoened the Attys to appear and give testimony.

They were trying to figure out if the firings were political.

Everyone in the Justice Dept and WH denied it.

Now there is a bucket load of e-mails that some suspect was leaked - looks like they team lied.

I don't quite get the resignations of the team and Justice Dept members.

But it looks like Gonzales let it happen or facilitated it - at the bidding of Bush, Cheney, or Rove or all.

Everyting makes it look as if GOnzales is a political AG - throwing out the balance of power. Yesterday, he called Bush his 'client' - as Bush was before G became AG.

Also, there is a blatant lie between what Gonzales told the Judiciary Committee at his hearing for his present job and the stuff that's coming out.
