McCain's new tactic: Promoting assassination
He has nothing to run on. He can't talk about issues, because it's him and his party that's fucked everything up. The smear campaign is backfiring on him. He has only one hope: that someone assassinates Obama.

3. The Senate needs to censure this fucker NOW. NOW.
Each and every member of the Senate should be OUTRAGED at this behavior by one of their own. What a disgrace this shameless bastard is, to the Senate, to the Nation, to the human race.

9. Now that you mention it...

isn't there a Senate ethics rule about slandering other members? I'm not sure, but it seems to me I remember something like that.

4. I agree, Th1onein. And it becomes more sickening each day. How can
anyone condone such hatred from their candidate?

Just sickening.

I seriously hope Obama has good people watching his back. Really good.

7. It's an emotional appeal
There’s an old saying: “If the law is against you, argue the facts; if the facts are against you, argue the law; If both the facts and the law are against you, call the opposition names.”

I listened to some Hannity and some Miller today. No Rush. It was a steady drumbeat of terrorist/ayers/terrorist/ayers/terrorist/ayers.... The thing is, once you get people "thinking" with their limbic system instead of their cerebral cortex, you can sell them on anything. This is probably a Godwin's rule violation but their rallies lately really do seem to be taking on Nazi characteristics. Wir müssen die Juden ausrotten? :puke:

11. Can the Senate Censure McCain? where is Harry Reid on this?
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 10:35 PM by lib2DaBone
Oh I forgot, Harry Reid went on vacation. He left right after the Senate gave $850 Billion to the bankers and then voted down an extention of unemployment benefits. "Let them eat cake"
----------------------------------------------------
On October 3, 2008, by a 386-28 margin, the House passed legislation (H.R. 6867) to extend unemployment benefits by an additional seven weeks. The vote, the final vote before adjourning for the year, follows a related September 26 vote to pass similar legislation (H.R. 7110).

The vote marks the second time in recent weeks in which the House passed such an extension of benefits. On September 26, 2008, by a margin of 264-158, the House voted to extend unemployment insurance benefits as part of a larger stimulus package (H.R. 7110).

The bill would provide jobless workers who have exhausted their benefits with seven more weeks of benefits, with additional 13-week extensions to workers in the 20 states (and the District of Columbia) with unemployment rates above 6 percent. The bill is intended to provide benefits to the nearly 800,000 jobless workers whose benefits were set to expire at the end of October, which is expected to rise to as many as 1.1 million workers by the end of the year. The bill provides roughly $6 billion for unemployment benefits.

The House vote follows the Senate’s failure to take up companion legislation on October 2, due to the objections of Senate Republican leadership. H.R. 6867 now moves to the Senate, which is in recess until November 17.
