Thank God For The Bailout!!!!!!
Yes my friends, it was the right thing to do! Anyone with half a brain understands this even though the actual version of a bailout could be debated. I just hope all those people fighting it will heal enough in time to forgive themselves for the travesty they almost caused the American people.

Now remember, I love you all you big group of softies!

:yoiks: :dilemma:

:sarcasm:... sorta

4. my magic eight ball told me so
honestly.. I was getting tired of the "DU'ers in favor of the bailout are stupid blah blah.." you know.. just another excuse for people to attack each other here, like one's needed. So.. thought I'd have some fun is all.

5. Perhaps because the Asian markets are dropping?

The bailout does nothing to free up the credit crisis from what I understand, which is one of many reasons why it was the wrong plan and should not have been passed. It does nothing to address the root of the problem either.

13. Nikkei at the lowest point in 4 years.
Bombay hasn't opened, but the only market not completely tanking is Kuala Lumpur.

I agree that this plan does not directly attack the banking liquity crisis.

Also, Paulson and Bernanke do not have a good record thus far in dealing with this crisis. My favorite is Bernanke's dismissal of the degree of the problems that taking all value from Freddie and Fannie existing preferred would have on smaller banks. A few days after takeover he said that he had miscalculated the harm that it would cause. Do we really want him and Paulson in charge of $700 billion with no plan?

Paulson will likely pay half of the 700 billion cool ones to his buddies at Goldman to come up with a self serving "plan" and administer it.

God help us.

16. agreed..
It barely side-swipes the liquity crisis, which pretty much makes this at it's best.. a poorly wrapped band-aid.

Paulson and Bernanke are fairly incompetent.

6. Usually when inebriated, one should post in the Lounge.
We have a better sense of humor over there, and some people even speak drunk, do maybe they'd understand what point you thought you were trying to make.

I take it back, even the Lounge couldn't help. Perhaps Dr. House could find the underlying problem.

10. I thought drunk was the native language in the lounge
tho I think the lounge is bilingual - drunk or stoned. with one you have to slur your vowels. with the other, you have to remember what you were going to say...

um...what was I saying?

I think the bailout we got was very bad. But I got fairly upset reading all the posts rip apart other members. I rarely ever do this but.. what can I say.. I did this time, right or wrong.
