We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.



I haven’t been on DU very long. However, I have felt that over the last 8 years, I have watched this country morph into something I don’t recognize. It has been hard to fight, because the things changing this land have been internal and fed by irrational fear.

I fully believe that this election is the last best chance to start to halt this change of this country into that which I fear most. It would be a land ruled completely by terror. People who are that afraid don’t listen. I believe they are listening now, and there are 30 days left to march forward. 30 days left to keep building an army of hope to overcome the fear and march to a better future.

I am sure there have been many points in the history of this country that have been momentous times of danger and change. We were not formed out of fear, and we have not lasted this long out of fear. As Roosevelt said, “We have nothing to fear, but fear itself.”

I have repaired my boots, and am beginning the march to November 4th. As I march, I will remember with every step those who marched before as far as they could.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Fannie Lou Hamer, Molly Ivins, Myles Horton, Barbara Jordan, Paul Wellstone……..There are millions more.

It is the march to the beginning! I know in many ways others are marching forward too.
