7. yes he did
When Moose Hilton started into that shit, it just sounded so worn out, tired and ridiculously out of place with what is happening now.

Hell, they threw an anchor through mine, then when I got out to swim, they ripped off my life jacket and tossed me a bowling ball. :(

14. welfare queens
I smacked a rethug with that yesterday. I told him that the fictional welfare queen of the 70s and 80s drove a new cadillac and had cable tv in the projects, but the new, actual welfare queens are doing much better, they're living in vast mansions and riding aboard private jets.

13. great point

However the whole frame in which contemptuous remarks about wealth redistribution were made is quickly entering the fossil record. Our banks will probably be nationalized before the next midterm elections. So the whole laissez-faire social Darwinist dogma we've lived under since Reagan's Revolution which gave clout to snorting denunciations of "wealth redistribution" and "creeping Socialism" will become very scarce in public discourse.

18. And *I* don't want to hear one more word about how the US can't "afford"
low-income housing, health care for all, decent food for poor folk, etc.

We've been left out of the democratic ideals of JUSTICE for 30 years now.... I REFUSE to politely put up with all the excuses, and how the war is more important than poverty, etc.

And all of this has as much to do with "progressives" as it does with "conservatives".

I"m done with it all!!!!

19. And no more bitching about welfare.
And if someone even mentions putting Social Security into the stock market I'm going to punch them in the mouth as hard as I possibly can.
