2. Not even remotely.
Orwell was stridently anti-authoritarian, and would have opposed the right-wing authoritarianism of the modern Republican Party as much as he opposed Soviet-style communism.

3. If he was anti-authoritarian, then why didn't he love Stalin?

18. Ha ha. I get it. Funny.
I like this game.

If we assume that Orwell was a Freeper, we must then also assume that:

Jesus Christ was a Satanist.
Incitatus the horse made a wonderful Senator.
Mother Theresa was a mass murderer.
The Pope is Jewish.
FDR was a Neocon.
The original Tom Paine was conservative.

Funny.

6. iI realize that supporting your words
is beyond you, but why would you ask this? Mr orwell wrote a book WARNING about "freeperism" and no more then John Wayne playing soldiers or cowboys made him anything but a draft dodger, writing a book against something does not make you into that something, any more then playing a part makes you into that character.

11. Some freeper types claim was soley a conservative...
...because he obviously opposed authoritarian communism and supposedly favored private gun ownership in England...

You are right-they forget that he would be appalled by the "1984" tactics in play as we speak...

8. I read that he was anti-authoritarian, but favored many socialist policies.
Of course we all know he would have been opposed to a facist as well as a socialist or communist dictatorship.

I also read that he was for private gun owner ship.

Freeper? hell no- but I suppose Liberals as well as some conservatives could claim he shared some beliefs with them.

9. You got it exactly backward
Freeper? You gotta be kidding, right? Every word he wrote (with the possible exception of his essay on politics and the English language) was anti-authoritarian.
