Poll question: Have you called or written to your congress critter re: the bailout?
Have you called more than once?

If not, would you please do so today?

1 (800) 828 - 0498
1 (866) 340 - 9281
1 (866) 338 - 1015
1 (877) 851 - 6437
1 (800) 459 - 1887

My humble suggestions:

No equity, no deal. Other countries have faced similar crises and come out ahead, because those citizens got an equity stake in their investment (not handout). IMO this is a huge opportunity to socialize at least PART of the profits. We will only get it if we ask. So I suggest we ask. (Demand, actually.)

Also, you might consider informing the person you speak to that you hope the congress person is smart enough to realize that the "This must be done by Friday!" scare-tactic is a lie. If it really had to be done by tomorrow, they wouldn't have been sitting on it for months while they hashed it out, would they?

It's no emergency, and burdening future generations with this much debt deserves careful deliberation... not a rushed, lie-filled con-job.

Thanks to everyone for helping. :)

p.s. In the poll below "as many members as possible" refers to everyone you can count on to listen: your elected Senators and Representative, the the Senate Majority Leader, the Speaker of the House, etc.

5. I would imagine they think that no matter what they say Congress will do what they want anyway.

8. I don't understand that attitude.
I wish I could just give up trying. That'd be so much easier.

6. I've contacted my congresscritter, but not my Senators.
The hold time for both Boxer and Feinstein are to long.

7. Yeah I had to wait a long time for Harry Reid's office...
thankfully I work at the front desk and the phone's not busy, so it's not a big deal.

Thanks for doing what you can. :)
