Are things eerily familiar or is those old fart just paranoid?

2002: We just have to go to war, right now, don't read the fine print, don't think, we don't have time or else there will be dire consequences. And democrats went along.

2008: We just have to bailout fiscal entities, right now, this time we won't let you read the fine print, there is no time to think or study or contemplate. There is dire fiscal consequences on the horizon if we don't act NOW. And democrats might go along.

I predict we will hear a fiduciary version of "with us or against us" coming from the white house soon.

2. I really hear echoes of the "WMD" threat here,
I have been watching the hearings on this today, found that many of the incredibly rich want this to pass IMMEDIATELY and with NO CHANGES!

This in itself is enough to make me very uncomforatable with the entire thing.

Yesterday, I emailed both my Senators as well as Nancy Polosi to at least give this thing a lot of attention and not rubberstamp it.

Just the fact it came from Bush't committee gives it a certain stink.

4. Yes. The situation is no more dire now than it was 3 months ago
but he wants to ram this giveaway through while he's still got Congress under his cowboy boot.

I don't think it will work. Even GOPs know the bill as it's written is unconstitutional and they know they'll all lose if they vote for it the way it's written. It's not playing in Peoria, where they don't want to hand money to any cigar chomping fat cat banker.

My hope is that Stupid will keep vetoing the bills they send him, screaming about Democrats all the way.

The situation will become this dire by next June. The real debt bomb is set to start exploding in January. Banks will need a bailout, and soon.

They just don't need one this soon. They can wait until a surtax is levied on the highest incomes to help pay for it, taxing the very conmen who created the problem.

5. Trust the people who said the Iraq War would only cost $10 Billion,
and it's now costing us that much every month? What's that saying? "Fool me once - shame on you. Fool me twice..."
Not believing them.Nope. Not at all.

6. No. I knew there were no WMD because I read newspapers carefully.

And I know the crisis is very real because I read newspapers carefully.

Conceding that there is a real crisis doesn't argue for any particular solution, Bush's or anyone else's; just that there is a genuine problem.

For the last year Bush has been denying and covering up the crisis, not promoting it.

The best evidence of crisis lies in the behavior of interest rates, housing sales and prices, money market redemptions, etc., It's all publicly available information.

Bush is just about the LAST person to admit to the problem.

7. It's obvious
Yesterday he said the bailout plan needs to pass through without delay in order to save the economy. He stressed that for the sake of the country this could not be held up.

We're VERY OBVIOUSLY getting "Bushed" yet again.
