The fundie at work.......
I had the day off today, but I got an email from a coworker about the latest episode involving the freaky fundie lady at work.
Apparently some of my colleagues were sitting around discussing the financial crisis, musing about yanking their 401Ks, pulling their funds out of various investments etc etc. They also talked about how they've virtually cut out all non-essential shopping.
That's when fundie lady interrupts (as she always does) and said "It's people like you who are hurting the economy!" She asserted that just because "there are a few cracks" in the economy, people shouldn't stop shopping. She also went on and on about how the US financial system can never fail.
This is the same woman who wonders why Wal-Mart won't let her husband work more than 35 hours per week, yet talks about what a wonderful company it is. This is the same woman who thinks universal health care is a horrid socialist idea, but constantly cries that she and her husband's medical bills are putting them in the poorhouse.
Our section of the office can be pretty ferociously liberal, and sometimes I feel a little bad for freaky fundie lady, but she always interjects herself into conversations and says batshit crazy crap like this. She is a picture postcard of a brainwashed right-winger: No matter how much evidence to the contrary presents itself, even impacting them directly, they still can't escape "The Matrix."

:dunce:

They are the moral fabric unraveling our society.

3. the worse things get the more she will turn to that church.
that's how it seems to work and the church knows it so even though she may not be doing as well she'll probably donate even more every sunday.

4. I'm surprised her head doesn't spin around like Linda Blair's.
That massive amount of cognitive dissonance she's creating should make her neck twirl like an office chair.

9. Could be worse...
One of the most basic laws in the universe is the Second Law of Thermodynamics. This states that as time goes by, entropy in an environment will increase. Evolution argues differently against a law that is accepted EVERYWHERE BY EVERYONE. Evolution says that we started out simple, and over time became more complex. That just isn't possible: UNLESS there is a giant outside source of energy supplying the Earth with huge amounts of energy. If there were such a source, scientists would certainly know about it.
