Can the Republicans who refuse to obey the subpoenas in the Troopergate case be jailed

Palin is getting away with an obstruction of justice, "conviently" forcing the state senate in Alaska to take up Troopergate after the election. Nice arcane law that says someone running for office cannot be investigated by the Senate in Alaska. I am beginning to dislike Alaska and its weird ass backwards way of doing things.

8. Out of the thirteen subpoenas issued ten go to Government workers

Three are to private citizens including Todd Palin, First Dude. The government can hide behind some sort of Executive Privilege but the three others have no excuse not to obey the subpoenas. It will be interesting to see how it ends up but as for contempt. That has to be done by the full Legislature and it doesn't meet again until January.

Like anything else, one can raise objections to a subpoena on a variety of grounds. Motions to quash subpoenas are not unusual.
