4. I've never understood the phrase "God fearing"

Is it somehow good to be afraid of God? Are you better than your neighbor if you are more scared of God? If you are scared shitless of God you must be the best person in your town.

Why shouldn't you be thankful to God for giving you life, giving you whatever blessings you may attribute to him, and hopeful of a happy after life if that is your belief?

If I thought God was such a booger man that I had to go around shitting my pants at the thought of him I'd change religions pretty fuckin quick.

6. Lots of 'smiting' went on in the Old Testament

Vanquishing of enemies, that sort of thing. Yahweh kicked ass and took names. The 'law and order' types love that kind of shit.
