What the heck is this?

I know he's defending Hillary, but he's the one running for VP.

1. He was being very gallant, that's all. Nothing to get upset over.

3. He said Hillary *could* have been a good choice
The "liberal" "media" says he said that she would have been a better choice.

4. I watched that speech LIVE! Joe was responding to a question from
the audience. The words quoted are what he said, but I don't see any problem with him saying them. There are a lot of people who would say Kucinich, or Hillary would have been a better choice than Obama, but they were NOT the majority choice! Was he patronizing that supporter? Yes, he probably was, but that doesn't mean he was a BAD CHOICE! The audience there seemed to accept his comments as his usual self deprecating humor, and that's fine.

6. Schuster and others have taken it out of context - it was response to an audience member dissing HRC
A questioner piled out a whole bunch of statements and questions until Biden stopped him and said he'd respond and then give others a chance to ask questions.

The audience member had gone on about how thrilled he was that it WASN'T Hillary, so Biden was put in an uncomfortable situation and responded gracefully, and self-deprecatingly.

9. I was there. This is much ado about nothing.
A guy in the audience felt compelled to badmouth Hillary, and JRB wasn't going to let it go unanswered. It was said in a way that was both pointed but also self-deprecatingly humorous.

A local political site got its knickers in a twist about the remarks, blew it out of proportion, and the hive-minders in the media followed suit.

10. It was a great answer IMO, but why give more red meat to the M$M?
..and I bet the Manchester Union Leader is all over it.

It was James Pindell from PolitickerNH who flipped out. He used to know better, but he's been acting odd since moving from the Boston Globe to Politicker.
