3. Not again?!?
One last time, THIS IS A FAKE. This is a list of books banned over the years. IT IS NOT A LIST OF BOOKS SARAH PALIN ASKED TO BE BANNED!

11. I wish this list would go away. It is overshadowing the bigger picture,
being that she definitely asked the librarian what she would do if asked to remove books from the shelves. And that she really did fire the woman, and then reinstate her, after an outcry, claiming it was a "test of loyalty." Every time someone debunks the list, people think the entire story is untrue. Her request, regardless of whether she had specific books in mind, is troubling and dangerous, and suggests that she would be willing and even eager to take away some of our most basic freedoms.

7. Please stop posting this. It distracts from the truth.
Sarah Palin did try to censor books in Wasilla's library, but we don't know which ones, because the librarian is scared to death and will not talk about it to the press. Palin tried to fire the librarian, and she eventually left town.

This is a list of common targets of book banning campaigns by fundies. It's very likely that Sarah TaliPalin disapproves of all these books (not that she's ever read any of them) and more, but we have no evidence that she tried to ban them specifically, and some of them weren't even published when the censorship incident took place during her first term as mayor.

13. Harry Potter wasn't even published when the "book banning" incident occurred.

10. There is no list. But she DID approach the librarian about banning & fired her.
The librarian now is scared to say a word. That much we DO know.

Bef. you get too annoyed, I DID do a search first to try to find out if this had been posted (Palin + banned), and it didn't turn up; and I can't usually check DU for news more than once a day.
