1. I think it has far more to do with 9/11 being a handful of days away.

2. I watched it last night....again
There wasn't much on, and I needed some mindless ear candy while I was knitting. What a piece of propaganda. Dayum.

3. That piece of crap
I had no idea what was playing, doing other stuff with the TV on, and when I realized what it was, I dived over furniture to change the channel.

It's not the GOP - it's the corporate media gearing up the Great National Holiday - September 11.

Pretty soon, it'll be another three-day weekend, with LOTS of sales. I can just imagine the promotions: "Don't let the terrorists win! Check out our White Sales!"

5. Is it United 93 that got the good reviews?
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 04:49 PM by repo
What a scam. I haven't seen either but both United 93(directed by Paul Greengrass (Bloody Sunday) and Flight 93 directed by Peter Merkle, a hugely prolific TELEVISION director) get listed on IMDB when you search.

Greengrass used the documentary style to chilling effect in Bloody Sunday and got critical acclaim for the same technique in United 93.

How does the made-for-tv stack up?

6. Isn't A&E owned by ABC/Disney?
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 05:00 PM by Sebastian Doyle
The "we're trying to be more right wing than FAUX" media company.

EDIT: (answering my own question)

A&E is a joint venture of the Hearst Corporation (37.5% ownership), The Walt Disney Company (37.5%), and NBC Universal (25%). The network is a result of a merger in 1984 between the ABC Arts and (pre-General Electric merger) RCA-owned Entertainment cable channels.

So there you go... a joint operation of right wing Hearst (who also printed the complete bullshit Popular Mechanics whitewash issue concerning jet fuel "melting" the frame of the WTC), right wing ABC/Disney, and war profiteer GE/NBC Universal.

Fair and balanced, of course. :puke:

7. NBC-GE
The war profiteers own A&E and the History Channel. They are always doing this kind of shit.
I could name so many instances where their programming is absolutely geared toward the republican agenda. It's sickening.

9. Yeah and before that was the 9/11 documentary
I refuse to watch either one. I remember that day. I DO NOT NEED someone to tell me what happened in some sort of bad realiy type movies.
