Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 05:32 PM by Fluffdaddy
Some cowards are even talking about leaving the good ole USA for "browner" pastures if we don't win.

Everything was great when our side was 10 points ahead. Now some are shiting in their panties with fear. Some of us have no backbone, no fight when the butt-hole gets tight. We now see who the front runners are.

Lets say when the polls come out monday we are now the underdawgs..........Great. I fight better/harder when I'm in a corner anyway. what good have being 18 points ahead in the past done for us?

I bet the freepers are having a good time reading DU with so many gone all wobberly in the knees on us.

I can't take no more, see you all on Monday when we get our fight back.

That's right people, like a "few" of us been saying..........this was not going to be easy. Deal with it.

Please forgive any grammmer mistake. I know I'm weak in that area :(

1. I'm offended by your generalization
Now some are shiting in their panties with fear.

I'll have you know that I'm not wearing any underwear, panties or otherwise. Nor am I shitting in or out of them.

But your point is very good--everybody's optimistic when we're ahead. The true test of mettle comes in a close race.

"Some people"

Personally, I haven't noticed any fear here.

I'd like to see direct evidence of this.

3. I have had only one fear and I had it long before Palin joined up
I fear that the SOB's will steal the election and then we will get stuck with 4 more years of the same bullshit.
It has compounded since the Palin gaff only because the stupidity of it makes it that much more critical if the do manage to take office.

I am not afraid of Palin or McCain, but rather what they and their regime would do to this nation that bu$h has not.

8. Good lord. The media is trying to make a story where there isn't
one. If they ran a headline "Old Greezer and Stupid Religous Nutcase will tank in November" what would they talk about until then? Americans may be stupid, but they are pissed and hurting, they aren't buying the Repuke shit anymore. McCain, way back in January or February drew 800 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Obama drew 8,000 the same day. McCain drew 8,000 in Cedarburg(?), Wisconsin today. Cedarburg is not big enough to hold the crowd Obama would draw such a short drive from Milwaukee.

It is all bullshit, just keep sending money, talk to people, vote and be ready to react if and when they try to steal it.

15. Exactly
I see the media's "love fest" of Caribou Barbie and praise of Gramps' speech and wondered if they saw the same thing as me. Then I realized that they NEED a close race to keep viewers attention. Obama got me off the couch and INVOLVED in politics, and I owe it to my children to fight to the last.

10. For the record...
I have stated several times that if the unthinkable happens and Obama is not our next president, I was considering moving to New Zealand. There are a lot of things that scare the crap out of me right now, not the least of which is the notion of Ms. Palin's trigger happy finger on the Big Red Button.

But....

All that has nothing to do with my thinking that Obama either can't or won't win, or my losing my desire to FIGHT for it.

I think we CAN win. I think we WILL win.

I drove 50 miles to see Barack speak last night, and was thrilled to catch a glimpse of him even after waiting in line for almost 3 hours and not being able to enter the venue itself.

I donated another $50 to Obama's campaign after McSame's speech last night.

Tomorrow I am headed to our local office to meet fellow supporters and volunteer. I am scared of people I don't know, this is a BIG DEAL for me.

I will do whatever they need me to do, even if it means PHONEBANKING. (I have a major phone phobia, but I will DO IT FOR BARACK!!!)

I am MORE DETERMINED than ever to fight for it with every last breath I have.

I will NOT GIVE UP.

Sorry for the caps all over the place, I'm really trying to get my point & passion across... I have more fight now than ever, because the stakes just got ramped up another 10 or 12 notches.

the poster could have made their point without calling people cowards for talking about leaving the US (what's wrong with spending a few years overseas anyway?) and some of the other comments were also insulting.

You coulda said it better.

except for concern trolls. Might you be one of them? You certainly spell and write bad grammar like someone from the other side.

Love your false bravado: "I fight better/harder when I'm in a corner anyway."

Well, what are you doing to fight? Going door to door for Obama? Donating money to his campaign? Have you even put up an Obama sign?

Or are you just a keyboard warrior trying to stir up shit on an Internet forum?

28. You have to admit the republicans have a sense of humor. They give us
a wrinkled up 70 yr old, war mongering, insane cancer survivor and a caribou barbie who happens to be under investigation for abuse of power. . .

All this after 8 years of a crack head and his 800 yr old vampire VP. . .

27. Seems to me people want the campaign to go on the offensive
and not continue with a proven LOSING high road strategy like 1988, 2000 and 2004.

and btw: people looking around at the current and future state of affairs would be wise to consider their option with respect to where they choose to live- because it's going to be "interesting times" in the states in the next decade- even more so if McCain and the theocrat end up in office.

Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 01:48 AM by ElkHunter
...I have to say that I agree with you on that one. There's a slogan I remember from the 60's that's always stuck with me:

There are two things you've got to remember about making a revolution. First, we're going to get our ass kicked; second, we're going to win.

Nobody said this was going to be easy. Tight polls just mean we have to dig deeper and fight harder.
