This was before her speech. Now they are even more excited. These aren't religious nut job fundies either, but are "libertarian-ish," anti-tax, pro-gun, true believers that "liberals" are trying to destroy Amurka, although they can't say exactly how. They are the same idiots who liked bush boy because they thought he'd be good to "have a beer with" and because they bought the kerry swiftboating hook line and sinker.

I think Palin is a hate-filled narcissistic egoist nutjob, who would alienate anyone with half a brain within about five minutes. BUT, most repukes, indeed most Amurkans in general, DON'T have half a brain. They love all that smack-talking, good-looking "babe," gun-toting bullshit and will never get far enough to think what if McCain dies and the mayor of bumfuck alaska becomes president, or how will all the jokey slams against that Obama guy make life better for anyone. They have the mentality of pro "rassling" fans. To them, it's a popularity contest, not rocket surgery.

Besides, more than a few of them, though they don't quite like McCain, are looking for ANY reason to vote against that negro fellow with the mooslim sounding name. Especially since democrats have failed miserably for a generation now at handling repuke negative campaigning, I think Palin is a MUCH bigger problem than the faithful here at DU are willing to admit.
