Since he picked her for VP, since she compared herself to Hillary and got booed for it, since the rumors started about her daughter actually being her granddaughter, since she revealed her daughter's pregnancy, it's just too much.

Is John McCain trying to lose?

Wait until the story breaks about her affiliation with the American Independence party and their efforts to secure votes to secede Alaska from the US!

4. It's all research on the part on McLame.

Y'see he's writing a book on how to intentionally lose an election.

5. Indeed..Maybe they chose Palin for Mcsame to undermine his run
for Pres. I wouldn't be suprised if the delegates oust BOTH Mcsame & Palin and choose another duo
at the end of this convention.
Have they voted yet? I'm not watching TV this week.

16. Romney/Ridge
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 05:10 PM by ProgressiveFool
Looking back, I think that would have been their best ticket. I'm sort of scared I might be right on this one, cuz I have picked all of the nominees so far for both parties, including McCain even when his campaign was near dead, and even guessed he'd somehow pick Palin.

Romney/Ridge would be a good choice for them in '12. Sure, it's sort of weird on the religiousity front, but they offer a lot of experience, and something for everybody in their base.

7. They're not trying to lose. They're just arrogant crooks.
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 04:18 PM by Marr
They thought that if they had a woman on the ticket, they could use the PUMA story as an explanation for the sudden surprise McCain victory via election fraud. They're so used to committing blatant crimes without any consequences, they've all become sloppy.

The Republican Party itself has become such an insulated club that they don't even vet their people. Why should they? The media always covers for them. There's no natural weeding-out process for the weirdos anymore, and their ranks have been filled with Monica Goodlings and David Vitters and Sarah Palins.

8. She has certainly provided her share of comic relief in the campaign.
I seldom take politics, or politicians, seriously, but her nomination is beyond the usual "They can't be serious" announcements.

9. Trying to lose... I floated this theory at work today
and no one could even argue...

John McCain changed his mind. He just doesn't know how to get out of it.

He's like that guy you dated in high school who wanted to break up with you, but lacked the balls to do it. So he started acting all jerky so that you would break up with him. How else can you explain recent events?

Also, my husband pointed out that his acceptance speech would air at the same time as the Giants v. Redskins game. Isn't Virginia up for grabs? I can't see those undecided voters who are also football fans (in Redskins territory) tuning in to his speech instead of the game.

He's just making one bad choice after another, or at least allowing others to make them for him. His reps can't string together enough words for a comprehensible sentence when asked to provide credible examples of Palin's readiness for the VP spot...

He's throwing the fight. Okay, maybe not, but I sure hope voters have the same response to him as I know I had to that jerky high school boyfriend. Dump his ass!

Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 04:44 PM by IanDB1
Perhaps that is The GOP strategy.

They want a Democrat to be at the helm when the liquidity-bubble bursts.

Or perhaps it's not that they want to lose...

It's that they know it doesn't matter if they lose.

And maybe McCain just picked Sarah Palin because he's boinking the hot librarian chick on the Straight Missionary Express.

Maybe Bush doesn't plan to leave on January 20th, 2009.
