i used to work at an ice rink- and hockey is a fairly expensive sport to have your kids in.
soccer is just a pair of shorts, a pair of shoes, a shirt and a ball.
hockey is skates, pads, helmet, gloves, sticks, pucks, ice time, lessons...and as the kids keep growing, they keep needing new gear.

6. and shin guards and gloves if you're a goalie

and a mouth guard

and orange cones, and plastic trophies and pizza parties

7. and the pants, suspenders, and jersies...

plus a nice big bag to put all the aforementioned crap into.
