Biden Warns: 'We're Gonna Give 'Em the Devil'

ABC News' Matthew Jaffe reports: No sooner had he arrived in Denver for the Democratic convention, Sen. Barack Obama's, D-Ill., vice-presidential pick, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., threw down a stern warning to Sen. John McCain's, R-Ariz., presidential hopes.

"We're gonna give 'em the devil," Biden told supporters as he stopped for lunch at the Mile High City's Bodey's Smokehouse.

"That's right, you give 'em hell!" came the cry from a woman in the crowd of about 100 that quickly formed when they learned that the veep nominee would be coming to the downtown Writer Square BBQ spot for his midday meal.

Biden spent about five minutes shaking hands with the onlookers, who swarmed around him as soon as he arrived.

"I'm running with Obama," he said. "I'm running for Obama!" drawing cheers from the crowd.

Whispering the truth doesn't work. Sadly, some people will have to be hit over the head with it.

Again, that's why I like Obama's strategy. It's our job, as Obama supporters, to have honest dialogue with people on the fence, share our views, our concerns as Americans, and give many an opportunity to let go of prejudices and misconceptions about the Democratic nominee.

I want to see some SERIOUS change. And I think Obama can deliver.

at Bodey's. (It's a permanent street cart kind of thing, great bbq). She got to shake his hand and took pictures of him (just his nose and mouth, unfortunately!)

She was walking on air all the way back to the office.
