1. Bill's refusal to say Barack is ready to lead is inexcuseable
He needs to make a whole-hearted endorsement. Can they still be thinking that... oh never mind.

2. I never had that much respect with them to begin with
While i think Clinton was a good president; he was also clearly willing to sell out his party for short term political gain.

7. So'd FDR with the World Court and the recession of 1937.

And his refusal to say anything in favor of the anti-lynching bill.

You make choices. Clinton had a hostile Congress to deal with.

3. I don't think it matters, anyway.
The Republicans have already successfully spread the meme that Obama is too inexperienced and may not be ready to lead. I was talking to my mom yesterday. She voted for Bush twice. She also was devastated that Hillary didn't get the nomination and feels it was stolen. She will vote straight Democratic ticket, which is fine with me, but she can't bring herself to actually say she will be voting for Obama. She thinks he's not ready to lead. <sigh> I'll take what I can get. If she is voting Dem for the first time since Carter's first term, what's there to complain about?

That being said, I'll not be losing respect for the Clintons. They're all too human, and they've made their share of mistakes, but Clinton was a damn good President in spite of being hounded by the Republican smear machine day in and day out. It must be hard to see your legacy wiped out in a few short years. I don't blame him for being bitter, and he probably thought the only way it could be righted is if Hillary was in the WH. If I'm going to disrespect anyone, it is going to be the Republicans who've smeared Obama, the Clintons and who try to destroy everything decent on this planet so they can make it hell on earth.

4. And she thought Bush was ready to be President? Just what does she consider
Edited on Mon Aug-11-08 10:16 AM by mnhtnbb
experience for being ready to lead?

Poppy's boy? AWOL during Vietnam? Failed businessman? Unrecovered alcoholic? Two bit governor with the highest execution rate for states? That must be it! He's ready to execute anybody. Just what's needed in a leader.

:sarcasm:

At least your mom is willing to vote Dem. I have a brother and SIL who are rabid Repubs.
I've broken off communication with her recently. I just can't take anymore from people
who are so blind to what is being done to this country and actively promoting Repub
propaganda and lies. At least my brother knows better than to send me the kind of
shit my SIL would.

8. The Clintons made "the lesser of two evils" a selling point.
Like a teaspoon of arsenic is "not as bad" as a tablespoon.
