Do You Think W Will Get Libby To Take Care Of Cheney?
I've been hearing debates about how W will either try to get rid of Cheney for a new VP - or not. Someone on Scarborough tonight brought up W's loyalty. But another said that Republican leadership in Congress will probably advise W to ask Cheney to resign so W can salvage his legacy.

It occurred to me that if W doesn't pardon Libby but let's him twist in the wind and go to jail, Libby might make a deal with Fitzgerald. Libby turns on Cheney to save his own ass. W doesn't have to do anything but continue to "respect the decision of the jury". You know, just be his usual lazy, prick self.

By doing this he gets back at Cheney for screwing up the lie that took us to war. He gets to help the Party by salvaging the rest of his presidency. All around, he comes out smelling like a gardenia while handing off creative talking points for the faithful.

1. I can't get past, "so W can salvage his legacy."
 Does anyone think that's possible?

2. I know! They actually brought that up on Scarb
But W is a legend in his own mind, sis.

You see, I can picture W picturing himself as the young godfather. Kisses Uncle Dick on the lips and tells him it's only business. Libby takes Dick out for the boat ride.

W, ever the sadist, loves this kind of deal.

3. Why bother...They're Playing Out The Clock
Neither boooshie or cheney will be running in '08...all they see is 1/19/09 as the date to survive through. I honestly don't think boooshie is thinking of a legacy other than seeing how much he can get away with and then slip off to Texas or Paraguay...letting others pick up the mess. He doesn't care who runs in '08 so what favor does he owe any of these candidates? He's shown he cares little about the health of his party as he's now wedged one group against another and has lost 'em both. This is a selfish, short-sighted regime that only cares about its immediate survival and will do everything it can to run out the clock.

Booooshie is convinced he can use executive orders, executive privilidge, national security and the Patriot act to avoid any form of accountability...and in the process will destroy both his party and his power base.
