Need help with Fox News errors: Republicans labeled as Dems
Edited on Wed Aug-06-08 02:14 PM by kansasblue
I mentioned to a friend how Fox had labeled many Republicans as Democrats when they are in trouble with the law.

Seems like there have been many. Do we have, or can someone make, a collection of all the errors we know about?

I remember Sen Stevens R-AK was a recent example.

It would be great to have it pieced together for youtube or just for emailing to the Fox fans.

maybe we could start posting them here.

1. Did you search DU?
I know someone had screen caps of a few instances...I think it was last week.

Mark Foley was also identified as a Dem during the Page scandal, I think, as well as maybe Cunningham? As you know, there have been several.

Certainly too many to just be a mistake on Faux's part.

5. I'm surprised they don't do that on election day
Or maybe they do. Put a "D" besides republican candidates in areas where there's a close race. I'm sure it's highly illegal but then they can just put a disclaimer on the air the next day saying "oops" and all is forgiven.

6. I'm working with a local campaign
and during the primary, the R candidate sent out a paid-mailer that listed him as "recommended" candidate for a Democratic ticket. It was a blatant lie, but he put himself out there with Obama and other state and local dems.

However, his lies didn't pay off and our candidate still won the primary!

7. Why would it be illegal?
Dumb and ridiculous, yes. Illegal, no.

10. I saw CNN the other day while in the gym, they were doing a report on Stevens. . .
In the course of the report, they showed images of other recently indicted or otherwise tarnished Congresscritters. I couldn't hear the newsreader, but captions were on, and each person shown had their name beneath them. What struck me was, they identified Jefferson as a Democrat but left all the Republicans unlabeled. Guilt by omission, is how I perceived their intent.

11. OMG...They don't even care how blatant they are anymore....
Are there really THAT many stupid people in their demographic, that the costs of running blatant "errors" don't outweigh the benefits of playing it to an audience who doesn't notice?
