International Youth Day 2008

For those that have not heard of International Youth Day, International Youth Day (IYD) is a political day designated by the United Nations. As with other political awareness days, the purpose of the day is to draw attention to cultural and legal issues surrounding youth. This year, International Youth Day will be Tuesday, August 12.

Thanks for signing the petition. By far, this is one of the best political discussion websites on the internet and so far, not to many people from the DU Community are signing the petition. I thought for sure that there would have been more that signed the petition.

Maybe give more information about Youth Day in your post -- as a political person you know that "marketing" is important in getting your ideas noticed. DUers attention is focused right now on McCain's horrible negative ads and how Obama will deal with them. Don't give up! A lot of people read DU on the evenings and weekends, when they are off work or school -- Wanet

When I read your original post, I thought you were referring to Catholic International Youth Day, which just took place in Australia. Maybe put "United Nations International Youth Day" in the subject line, so people aren't confused. -- Wanet
