Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire denied access to bar
No ID, I kid you not. She's 61 and the freaking governor.

"Hannah's owner, Todd Ruzicka, says his 23-year-old part-time bouncer needs more training."

1. So? No ID, no entrance...
It's probably that way for everyone else, and she should be no different.

12. It depends on
State , County, Local laws. Some say ID everybody-others say use your own judgment. Always err on the side of caution.

13. I would say you should be able to recognize the governor of your state.

15. I don't know the laws in Washington State. All I know is what I've seen.

16. Not true.
At least in Washington state there's no law requiring you to ID obviously over 21 purchasers. I'd imagine it's like that in most states, it certainly is in mine. Naturally, stores are free to develop their own more stringent internal policies to protect themselves.

http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=66.16.040

"Where there may be a question of a person's right to purchase liquor by reason of age, such person shall be required to present any one of the following officially issued cards of identification which shows his/her correct age and bears his/her signature and photograph"

17. I have been turned away..
from establishments here in my home state for not having ID. I assume it is similar elsewhere.

4. I was refused a drink at O'Hare (Puck's) because of an EXPIRED I.D.
Expired State of Texas identification card.

I was 55 years old at the time.

So my friend said he would buy a drink and give it to me, instead.

The witch behind the bar refused to serve him, too.

5. Elk Grove Village in Illinois requires ID of all customers
I've stopped at a grocery store there and watched the cashiers card 60 & 70 year olds.

10. It's probably because she's a Dem. The 23-year-old was probably
steeped in the Republican kool-aid since birth.

18. This is what happens when we think it's the end of the fucking world if 18-20 year olds drink
These laws are ridiculous.
