GOODBYE LIEBERMAN: Democrats May Kick Joe Out If He Addresses The Republican National Convention
Edited on Sat Jul-12-08 10:47 PM by Segami
What are they waiting for, Christmas?.....They should give him the pointy boot NOW!

"....Robert Novak reports that Democrats consider Joe Lieberman's planned address at the GOP Convention in September the "last straw" from their colleague from Connecticut:

Despite assurances to the contrary from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Democratic insiders are certain Sen. Joseph Lieberman next year will be kicked out of the party's caucus and lose his Senate chairmanship if he addresses the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., as planned. "

14. Ignoring the will of Democratic primary voters should have been enough to kick him out.
Why he was even allowed to caucus with the Democrats past November of 2006 is beyond me.

2. Last straw, my chicken-fried ass.
If Harry is still hesitating about this, then he can go to hell with Joe.

7. This is the negative image Dems continue to showcase and promote to the public
it's position of weakness. Time for Reid to be MORE decisive, clear and assertive with Joe and party positions.

17. And soon, time for Reid to go, too.
That negative image has a lot to do with Harry.

5. Considering that we're likely to pick up 4+ Senate seats in 08
I don't think Joe cares anymore. Why wait? Why not kick him out right now?

23. OK, but I don't think that he would care if they throw him out.
Maybe he'll start caucusing with the Repugs.

18. He is currently chairman of the Homeland Security committee...
And there is no way in hell someone like him should be able to chair a committee like that when the Democrats are in the majority.

19. They did have a strong contender to run against him.
The prick changed from a Democrat to an Independent because he wanted to win so bad. Disgusting!

and begin dropping bombs against Iran.

24. Just a question.
Edited on Sun Jul-13-08 12:56 PM by BillE
If they kick him out now and he joined the republican caucus, wouldn't that give the republicans the senate majority and the committee leaderships? In other words the republicans take over the agenda and investigating committees for the remaining 6 months? I am not sure how that works.

edited for clarity.
